About Baab

Baab (باب — “door” or “gateway” in Arabic) helps Muslims in North America find local Islamic events and discover masjids, organizations, and businesses near them. It's built for anyone looking for a Jumu'ah, a halaqa, an iftar, or a community gathering close to home.

Most events come from Islamic organizations — masjids, Islamic centers, and other community non-profits — whose event calendars we check regularly. Events submitted directly by users go through a review step before they're published. If you ever see something that doesn't belong, you can report it directly from the event page.

Tap Submit from any page — fill in the details and confirm it fits Islamic ethics and values. You'll only be asked to sign in with Google when you hit submit, so you can see the whole form first. New accounts go through a quick review before an event goes live; after your first few approved events, your submissions publish immediately.

No — registration always stays with the organizer. If an event needs registration, Baab links out to the organizer's own site.

Yes, completely free — for finding events and for submitting them.

Tap "Change" next to your location on the Home, Events, or Directory pages. You can jump straight to a metro area, search a zip code, city, or state, or use your current location.

Tap the bookmark icon on any event card or detail page. Saved events show up under the Saved tab.

They're a quick way to show interest without committing to go — tap Interested or Love on an event's page, and the count is visible to everyone. It's different from Save, which just bookmarks an event for yourself and isn't public.

Open the event and tap "Report this event" near the bottom, then pick a reason. An admin reviews every report.

Your location is used only in your browser to find nearby events — it isn't stored. We only ask for the basics needed to sign in and manage your submissions.
