When a listing on Baab carries a certification badge, it means the business is hand-slaughtered (Zabiha) and currently listed by a recognized third-party certifier — Halal Monitoring Services (HMS), Halal Food Standards Alliance of America (HFSAA), or Halal Monitoring Authority (HMA).

We never accept self-declared certifications or unverified verbal claims, and never invent a status a certifier hasn't published. Not every business on Baab carries a badge yet — certification coverage across our directory is still growing, and an uncertified listing simply means no certifier has published a status for it, not that it isn't halal.
